Club Fundraising

As some of you may have been aware, the 200 Club has been in existence since the early 1980’s and has made an important contribution to the growth of the overall club. With the passing of Graham Bates who was the main administrator for the 200 Club the club has decided to bring together several similar fundraising activities across the three sections into a new format.

We owe Graham a huge debt of gratitude for the work he did to run and maintain the club over so many years.

The closure of the 200 Club has led to the launch of the Vice Presidents Club. This will replace the 200 club and provide all subscribers with the chance to win cash prizes in our quarterly draws as well as contributing to the fundraising for the club. Our ambition is that in doing this we will also re-energise the old Vice President membership.

Tell me more about the Vice Presidents Club?

The Club will hold 4 draws per year, one in December, a spring draw at the end of March, mid-summer draw in June and the annual Vice Presidents lunch which will be a feature of the Presidents Charity Day event at the start of September each year.
Members will be provided with an afternoon tea at this event each year and we hope that it will be an event members look forward to as an integral part of the club’s chosen President’s charity fundraiser.
The money generated from the members will be split between club funds and prize payouts.
The bigger the membership the more the VP’s can support the club but more importantly the higher the Quarterly prize fund.
The net money generated will be split 50:50 which will mean that if we are able to attract 50 members the quarterly Jackpot prize will be £375 with additional prizes of £125 and £75 each Quarter.
Each quarter the club will meet for the draw with a social event provided for members to get together. There will be a £30 prize drawn for members present at the event.
Current playing members from the Squash section who join the club will receive a rebate on 31st March each year of £1.50 per month that they have been members of the VP Club.

The first quarterly draw will be held in December with a Christmas drinks event in the clubroom.
