Court refurbishment- court closure.

I have some exciting news to share with you this Monday morning.

We have just given the green light to proceed with some major squash court refurbishments.

The courts will be closing as of the 21st of September for two weeks .

In that time, the front playing wall we be completely removed and replastered, side and back walls repainted and relined, floors to be sanded and repainted, doors to be either replaced or fixed, and the brick work above the courts to be repainted.

I appreciate that this long period of time that the courts will be closed, and will be an inconvenience to many, but hopefully you can agree that the courts will be all the better for these works.

These are also just the beginnings of some further work we have planned, including new carpets in the hallway and also some new heaters in the courts, to make game play in the colder months better.

As you can imagine, these works do come at a cost, and huge thanks to Clare who has been invaluable in helping us obtain a partial grant from Lichfield District Council as well as liaising with the overall club to help fund the works as well. Simply, we could not have hoped to achieve all of this without Clare's hard work.

With the levels of work and investment from the overall club into the squash section, I must ask that we as members are diligent in making sure that we look after our courts to help protect the future of them. Please continue to wear non-marking shoes on court, report any issues or damage to courts so that we can act accordingly. These are our courts, and as members we need to ensure they remain in the state we wish to find the.

Once the court refurbishment has been completed, we will also be looking to see if there are any local businesses that would like to sponsor the courts and have their logos on the tins, if you, or a business you know, may be interested in this please get let me know.
